The Aloha Challenge Martial Arts Tournament took place last Saturday, October 4th at Mt. Pleasant High School in San Jose.  The tournament was open to all styles and all skill levels for competitors 17 and under.  The divisions included kata, weapons, self-defense, point sparring, continuous sparring, and semi-contact kickboxing.  The competitors were competing for trophy titles, but the ultimate prizes were bikes for the Jr. Grand Champions in various divisions.  Alan Garcia and the Kajukenbo Institute Of Martial Arts hosted this successful event.

I personally enjoyed helping out at this event as a back-up judge/referee/timekeeper, and working with many other professional martial artists to support Mr. Garcia, along with his vision of providing a friendly, supportive, and competitive event for the next generation of martial artists and athletes.
